How It Works

Scammers promote fake investment platforms, often through social media ads, Telegram groups, or private messages. Victims see fake "profits" on dashboards but withdrawals are blocked. Sometimes the scam starts through a romance scam ("pig-butchering") where a fake partner introduces an "amazing investment opportunity." Victims are encouraged to invest more until the platform disappears.

Red Flags

  • Guaranteed or "risk-free" profits – no legitimate investment can guarantee returns.
  • Pressure to invest quickly before the "opportunity" closes.
  • Requests to move money to private wallets or unregulated platforms.
  • Fake dashboards showing consistent, unrealistic profits.
  • Withdrawal fees or "taxes" demanded before you can access your money.

Protect Yourself

  • Never trust guaranteed returns – all investments carry risk.
  • Use only regulated platforms licensed by financial authorities.
  • Verify platforms with the Israel Securities Authority or equivalent regulator.
  • Avoid private "investment mentors" who contact you unsolicited.
  • Don't install trading apps from links sent via messages – only use official app stores.
